Hirundo rustica
The Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) is one of the most familiar of North America's birds, being widespread as a breeder across the continent. At the right are three shots of young Barn Swallows being fed by an adult at Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in May, 2005.
