Mexican Pygmy Grasshopper (Paratettix mexicanus)

The Mexican Pygmy Grasshopper (Paratettix mexicanus) is a common but tiny and inconspicuous grasshopper in many areas of Texas. The top shot shown on this page was taken near Bee Cave, Travis Co., Texas, in October, 2010, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Canon 180 mm Macro lens.
